As a Security Architect, you will own the end-to-end security architecture across cloud and on-premises environments. This role blends strategic thinking with practical, hands-on guidance suitable for both fast moving startups and complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the overall security architecture and reference patterns for cloud and on-premises environments.
- Design secure solutions for applications, data, and infrastructure, balancing security, performance, cost, and time to market.
- Evaluate and select security technologies and tools (e.g., IAM, network security, endpoint, security monitoring) and guide their integration and adoption.
- Review and challenge solution designs, engineering changes, and new services for security impact, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
- Partner with cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to embed security controls into architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and day-to-day engineering workflows.
- Support the design and implementation of network segmentation, zero-trust architectures, and secure connectivity (including hybrid and multi-cloud).
- Contribute to security standards, policies, and guardrails, and help teams apply them in practice rather than just on paper.
- Collaborate with security operations and incident response teams to ensure architectures support effective detection, response, and resilience.
- Provide security input into risk assessments, third party reviews, and customer or regulatory audits.
- Mentor engineers and analysts on secure design principles, threat modeling, and architecture trade-offs.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in information security with a strong focus on security architecture and design.
- Deep knowledge of network security and architecture (segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, secure network and application design).
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and designing secure cloud architectures.
- Familiarity with key security domains such as identity and access management, data protection, security monitoring, and vulnerability management.
- Experience applying security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, zero trust principles) in real world environments.
- Ability to work with both technical and non technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into secure and pragmatic solutions.
- Comfortable operating in both structured enterprise settings and more agile, fast paced startup environments.
- Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent architecture focused certifications are considered a strong asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
