Tekvaly is looking for a Linux Administrator in Pakistan, for its client.

As a Linux Administrator, you will be involved in system performance monitoring, patch management, security, and technical support across Linux and Unix-based environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (such as RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) in physical and virtual environments.
  • Support and manage multiple Linux distributions and Unix-based environments, ensuring consistency in configuration, reliability, and performance.
  • Monitor system health and ensure optimal performance, uptime, and resource usage.
  • Manage patching, updates, system backups, and OS-level security hardening.
  • Handle incidents and service requests (P1–P3), ensuring timely troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and apply appropriate remediation actions.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and configuration management tools.
  • Contribute to infrastructure design, documentation, and implementation of monitoring/reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams for secure deployments and tool integration.
  • Maintain accurate system inventory, license tracking, and compliance documentation.
  • Work within ITIL frameworks for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Stay up to date with the latest tools, technologies, and system administration best practices.
  • Perform all other related duties.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Linux system administration, with exposure to Unix in enterprise settings.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, and Ubuntu.
  • Strong understanding of Linux OS security, patch management, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell, Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
  • Comfortable working in virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, KVM, SimpliVity).
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable, CyberArk).
  • Exposure to storage systems (SAN/NAS) and enterprise backup/recovery solutions.
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 support or rotating shift environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management processes.
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Centrify, HP OBM, or similar platforms for system management, identity access, and monitoring.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education.
