This role focuses on building and automating security into development and deployment pipelines, not just monitoring. You’ll work closely with developers and cloud engineers to design secure architectures, integrate security tools into CI/CD, and enforce secure-by-design practices.
Responsibilities
- Integrate security controls, checks, and automation into CI/CD pipelines across development and production environments.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement secure cloud and container architectures.
- Implement and maintain security tooling such as SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning, and secrets management.
- Support infrastructure as code practices and secure configuration baselines for cloud resources and Kubernetes clusters.
- Monitor and improve the security posture of pipelines, containers, and cloud workloads.
- Automate repetitive security tasks using scripting and DevOps tooling.
- Advocate for security best practices in agile teams, providing guidance on secure coding and deployment patterns.
- Assist in defining, testing, and operating new ways of working with emerging technology and processes.
- Stay current on DevSecOps, cloud native security, and emerging industry trends.
Requirements
- Professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or security engineering with a focus on automation and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Strong understanding of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud security fundamentals.
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and their security considerations.
- Experience with security tools such as SAST/DAST scanners, dependency scanning, container scanning, and secrets management.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar).
- Knowledge of security frameworks and practices (e.g., OWASP, CIS Benchmarks, zerotrust principles).
- Cloud and/or security certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP, DevSecOps or security certs) are considered a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field required or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education
Soft Skills We Like to See:
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn.
